About any thing above 99' is a good car(s).
I like GA's myself :D But GP are nice too.
Both in 4 doors, the GA's came with a 5 spd but only in the 4cyl models which arent the best in my opiniom (IMO).
You can get GTP which has a supercharger :ylsuper:
Thiers plenty of places to check out cars.
http://www.kbb.com/ for buying and selling prices in your area.

The easy way too look at difference between the two is the Grand Prix, are a little higher end More options, more luxury, more power. It's also larger then the Grand Am. You'll end up paying more for the Grand Prix versus the Grand Am. The Grand Am GT's come well equipped with options comparable to the grand Prix gt's. I believe you can do a side by comparison on Edmunds (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/www.edmunds.com) between the two models, it'll give you a better understanding of the differences.

Apparently I've become an idiot when it comes to posting links, since i keep screwing them up, Anyways, here's the link YET again for Edmunds (http://www.edmunds.com/used/1999/pontiac/grandam/12682/prices.html)
