2002 X5, Another wered problem. Check rear lights message comes on the dash. I replaced all the lights that did not work (some of them looked OK) all works fine, till the evening then message comes back, I check lights, one parking & one break light don’t work on the same side I replaced them at. I go back to check the light bulbs, they are fine but feel loose in the sockets, actually their sockets are loose in the light assembly. So I try bending the little “whiskers” that hold the socket with the bulb in the light assembly and try again. Works until the evening & message comes back again, this time it’s just one parking light. Did someone else experience the same/similar problem. I should probably start with replacing the socket themselves and then go for the light assembly ha?

Thanks,

I had a Volvo that did something like that. I cleaned the sockets and bulbs and put it back together. I have also heard that you can use some kind of grease, dielectric or something like that. Are you up north?
