Paasche VL vs. Badger 155 Anthem

Both Airbrushes are about the same price. I've heard many good things and bad things about the VL, but can't seem to find that much about the anthem. Which do you guys recomend?

6 of one, half-dozen or the other. Iwata's quality is superior to both.

Both are terrific airbrushes, and either would be an excellent choice. Alot of people here would also point out that Iwata also makes excellent airbrushes.

Personally, I would skip siphon feed style airbrushes. After using a siphon feed for, oh, 15 odd years, I recently got a gravity feed Badger 100. It's awesome! I look forward to never having to use a siphon feed again!!!

also. I don't make that many models (school and what not) but i want them to turn out good. What advantages (other than cost effectiveness) do compressors provide over propel cans?

Smoother airflow, more pressure available, no moisture or whatever that is that comes out sometimes, don't have to switch cans as often, can spend longer on cleaning on your airbrush the right way, rather than taking a shortcut to save air.

i have a 155 and i love it. ive heard some bad stories about VL but its mostly user error related

VL is a good starter brush. the main reason i bought it was b/c of the deal dixieart had at the time coupled w/ the fact that parts for paasche's were readily available in my neighborhood airbush stores. Given the popularity of Iwatas nowadays compared to 7 - 8 years ago I'd go w/ Iwata over paasche/badger. just save a few more bucks and get an Iwata Revolution. that's my advice .

I have VL and I'm very satisfied with it. I have never had any problems with it.
