its front wheel drive so its not going to be easy. it all depends on your level of mechncal skills and determination. the trans mission shop told me that swapping out rear ends in my trans am would be aver very big project if i had no interuptions i could have done it in 4 hours. with no skills or knowledge of how to do it. so it kinda just depends. all i can say is give it whirl. you wont know till you try

everyone was saying how hard it is to do a tune up on these cars and how you need special tools to make it work and all this...and it took me under 2 hours with simple everyday tools.

I swapped the engine in my old 98 gt in a weekend with no help other than standard hand tools a cherry picker. I would advise at least getting a friend to help. A good majority of the time was spent being pissed off and trying to get the ps pump hoses back on. I did notice that from the previous shops engine swap that they left off one, iirc, bellhousing bolts for the trans. This made it considerably easier because I was running into trouble getting a socket or wrench back farther on the engine (cowl side). Obviously not recommended.

Just get enough time to get over the overwhelming feeling of a lost cause that creeps up and plenty of beer breaks. Certainly not like the old carbureted sb/bb engine swaps.

Good luck if you go for it or better luck finding someone to do it right, cheaper!

i agree good luck finding someone to do it right cheap. because ive found that i cant even take my car in to get a damn oil change without coming out with something wrong maybe im just to picky, have bad luck or people are just numb nuts.

id say if you can turn a wrench and hook a few chain up to some engine brackets. go for it yourself
