you need to go buy DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid.
my civic takes DOT 3... it should say on the cap of the fluid reservoir what kind you need.
anyways, you should be using the correct stuff all the time. you shouldnt need to comprimise with your own solution unless its a last resort.
my brake pedal used to depress really quickly when i first got the car. when i replaced the fluid, it didnt fix it, but it did slow it down a little.
go buy some brake fluid and replace your water and transmission fluid or whatever it is your using

ok. so. you're putting WATER and ANTIFREEZE in your fucking BRAKE FLUID RESEVOIR???
you've probably fucked it up if it's been in there any legnth of time.
i know antifreeze helps keep water from corroding things, however, just using brake fluid will ensure that your brake system will be fine for years to come.
besides... what's a small container of brake fluid cost? $.89 where i'm from. if you get the cheap stuff and buy the larger containers, you still stay under $3.

Wow. I dont know what to say. You put fucking antifreeze in your brake fluid resevoir and your asking why your brakes dont work? Damn there are some seriously stupid and fucked in the head people in this world.
Are you telling me you poured in antifreeze cause its cheaper? For one thing, brake fluid is probably cheaper than antifreeze, for another, even water would have done less damage than antifreeze. All your brake lines, Master cylinder, maybe even caliphers are shot by now. Either take your shit to a decent brake shop, or blow up your car and call it a day. (Hint the second option is easier and cheaper for a dumb ass like you).

this guys is just messing with us, lol...he might be saying the lack of antifreeze in his car led to the brake fluid going out of the car...you know what though guys..if this guy isn't messing with us it really makes you wonder when your sitting at a stop light whether that civic bearing down on you will be able to stop, lol! This really is one of the weirdest questions I've seen in a while...BTW....as the brake pads wear the fluid level will go down slightly over time...if anything more than a little top up is required..you do have a leak, regardless of whether or not you think you do.
GO TO A MECHANIC IF YOUR NOT A WEIRDO TRYING TO STIR UP SHIT!

well ur first post was definately mis worded and quite confusing lol and that stick auto sounding stuff...hrmm i dunno..but if i was u i would start by filling up the brake fluid res and then start the car and have a buddy pump the brakes and go around checking for leaks..make sure all the bleeders are tight..sometimes a soft pedal could also be a frozen caliper..but as for the brake fluid loss..there has to be a leak somewhere..also im not sure where ur from but keep in mind some of us are are experiencing freezing temps..it would prolly be wise for u to flush and fill ur coolant..i know ur not working but walmart has some cheap antifreeze..

Jeez... you're kidding right? You can buy pre-mixed water/antifreeze at Walmart for like 3-4 dollars.
I know a lot of us don't use perfect grammar and/or sentences when posting but a little effort at trying to sound like you attended elementary school would help in trying to gain actual solutions from us to your automotive queries. In other words, make sense or you won't get answers to your problems...

"I've been filling my resevoir with water and trans"
We arent fucking psychic here buddy. How do you expect anyone to realize the resevior you mentioned wasn't your brake resevior, in a thread specifically about brakes, even after deadcivic specifically asked you about your BRAKE fluid resevior. No one was able to magically understand the jiberish you said, whether you meant coolant resevior or whatever. WTF is "trans" anyway?
Besides, anyone who thinks a cooling system has anything to do with brakes, and would even mention it in their thread is a fucking dumb ass. Like i said, either blow up your car while sitting in it, learn english, or GTFO.

how old are you?
or should i say how's life as a freshmen loser?
how did you buy brakes if you have no job or money?
Anyways just change my breaks out with the new set i just bought and the brake fluid should last longer?
who the fuck said anything about changing your brakes? you don't even know if that is the problem yet.
the front brakes are important but the rears are helpful, otherwise they wouldn't be there.

Stop typing in bold!!!
Please, read what you are writing before you post. Honestly, I can't understand some of what you say. It's not even proper english. I'm not trying to be an ass, but I really have a hard time understanding what you are trying to say.
