this is a kit i bought online weeks ago. got it at quite a bargain. the kit comes w very beautiful wheels, and lotsa spare parts.

anyways decided to save the wheels for a worthy kit sometime later. will show the pic nex post.

this is my first fujimi kit, considering the fact that this is my 3rd model, and i'm still very much a rookie. thing i notice about fujimi is that they're pretty lazy(pls dun flame me for stereotypin, this is only my first Fujimi kit), the undercarriage is very simplified and kinda morale dampening, fit might pose a problem and worse of all, the steering wheel is outta alignment!!! the plastic quality is pretty decent, it is not brittle(which i noticed in aoshima kits) and its kinda soft and i find it very pleasing to file. =)

ok well, moving on to my model, the GT wing provided is pretty neat but the frames are filled! took me some skill and time to remove the excess portions. the shape is kinda weird as u can see... should rather shape like a upright triangle. instead of an inverted one.

i intially intended to build this model fully stock from box, with new wheels, but somehow wanted to adventure a little into the world of scratchbuilding. the model required u to switch muffler directions, well, i did, but i chose to keep the other muffler.. hehe.

oh ya last but not least. there's a decal for the whole boot. as according to the instructions, i'm suppose to do the decal before sticking on the wing, and here comes the problem, i am very afraid that the cement would hurt the decal and that could pretty much destroy the model. if you guys are in my position, what and how would u go about it?

Thanks again! =)

try using that window (clear) cement for your boot

those little wing stands will break off quite readily unless you pin them through the decklid, so white glue, or that testors "glass" glue would work great in that instace.

if you decide to pin it, then BEFORE YOU PUT THE DECAL ON, assemble the wing and drill a small hole in the base of each wing mount, that a small piece of wire can fit snugly in. now to fit it to the decklid, you will want to rest the wing on the decklid where you want it, then mark the holes with a + so you will know exactly where to drill. drill your holes so the wire can have a slight amount of play for adjustment reasons.

now apply your paint, decals, clear coat, polish, and whatever else needs to be done before you attatch the body to the chassis. superglue the wire in the holes on the wing mounts, then tim the wire down so it's only protruding about 5mm. fit the wing to the body, making your adjustments as necessary. now with the wing where you want it, apply some clear epoxy to the wire from the INSIDE of the body, bend the wire over so it lays flat to the decklid, smear a bit of epoxy over it, and let it dry. now your wing won't fall off. this also works for mirrors, trim, bumpers, anything that needs to be attatched that stands a chance of breaking off.

I have yet to break off any wings or mirrors that are attatched in this fasion.

hope this helps.

I think I'll do a write up on this with pictures, or someone else can, whever gets there first!!! hahaa
