1998 Buick Gs...the Abs/trac/brake/svs Lights Came On. Replaced Very Warn Pads Front And Back, noticed Brake Fluid Very Close To Min Level Near Level Switch Because Pads Where So Low. Corrected Everthing, Unpluged Battery Checked All Fuses And Relays Still No Luck.i Test Drove The Car And Found The Brakes To Be Harder Than Usual And I Suspected That The Fronts Were Only Working...so I Drove Onto Gravel Slammed On The Brake Sure Enough Only The Two Fronts Locked Up. I Have Determined That The Rear Wheels Are Not Getting Hydralic Pressure At All. Checked For Leaks,etc...nothing. Please Any Suggestions Thanks

Welcome to AF.

To start check the condition of the rear brakes and correct any problems such as worn pads or rotors. Brake bleeding may verify you have a hydraulic malfunction to the rears.

But your problem doesn't sound like just an ABS braking problem due to your symptoms. You may have a bad ABS wheel sensor on one of the wheels. Normally the car should be scanned with an ABS capable scanner/scan tool to see what DTCs are stored to help diagnose the problem.

Thank You,the Back Pads Are Brand New...i Scanned The Computer With A $69.00 Sacn Tool (no Codes) I Am Not Sure If This Scanner Is Capable Of Retreiving Abs Trouble Codes? I Will Find Out If Not I Will Purchase The Right One....... In The Meantime I Will Try To Bleed The Rears And See If I Get Fluid....thanks Again And I Will Keep You Informed

Only special or high end scanners with ABS diagnostics capability can scan for GM ABS/Chassis codes. Like a GM Tech II or Snap On MT2500. The regular run of the mill odb-ii scanners cannot do that. The right scanner will readout certain ABS codes that will help lead you to the trouble area or part. They can check wheel sensor signals going back the EBTCM module (ABS Module). Good luck and keep us posted.
