Get a ecotec second half of 2002 and standard in 03+.

he was trying to say get a 2003 or newer cavalier, they have an engine called an "ecotec" its pretty much the best thing to happen to cavaliers, the 1998 cavaliers came with 2 different engines, the 2200 (2.2 liter), very reliable, not worth a shit performance wise, 115hp stock, then you have the 2.4, which is much better performance wise, and puts out 140 hp stock, as far as switching engines, ANY engine in the world will fit with the right tools, the ONLY engine that will bolt right up is the one the car comes with

Actually, PsychoJJ was telling him to swap in an ecotec engine, not buy a car with one, And z24's come with 150hp stock not 140. AND I thought Ecotec engines had the same mounts as 2.4's as well. So it would bolt right in, it's the transmission you'd have to worry about.

Or you could just buy a cavalier with an ecotec in it and save all the trouble.

I second what Roboto said about just buying the cavy with an eco in it to begin with.
