i am having problems deciding on 12" subs for my car. in need 1000-1200 watts peak and 500-800 watts RMS because my amp is a Pyramid PB1836GX pushing 2400 watts or 1200 watts x2 channels so i need subs that can handle it but i cant spend a lot of money (which is why i chose this low-priced not-so-name-brand Pyramid amp because it has high output and low price)
i have looked at Pyramid, MDX, Lanzar, Audiobahn (if i get these it'll be the DUB series), XP, Blitz, Boss, Pyle, Legacy, Volfenhag, and Pheonix Digital. My thinking is that a higher sensitivity/efficiency rating and a dual voice coil are choosing factors but let me know if thats the case.
what brand of subs are best for low priced and around 1000-1200 watts peak, 500-800 watts RMS??? :dunno:
PS. I chose 12"s because i already have a box for em
thanx for any help!

how big is your box? is it sealed, or ported? if it is ported, what is it tuned to? what ohm load is your amp stable to? since it is a pyramid, i bet it only really puts out around 300 rms per channel, and i'm guessing it is only stable to 4 ohms. what is your budget?
these are good quality and cheap:

if i was u i would go with mtx... my buddy has the exact same setup... if u have an enclosed trunk(not hatchback) drill a hole about 3 1/2 in. in diameter on the middle of the back console and put a port cover over it facing the back of the box and make sure the subs are facing the back of the car... and if u have a sealed box it helps with better sound quality when doing this... but once ur complete u have a recipe for great base and sound using the exact amp u have... its like a box within a box... it creates an unearthly bass sound when u do it in an enclosed trunk... with mtx's... good luck!!
