I've had some questions about my ride that I've been unable to answer.
First- what is this logo supposed to say? Only half of it remains on the panel. From browsing these forums, I can assume that it is supposed to say "Dynaride" (whatever that may be??), but does anyone know for sure?

Second- how do I get the Glove Box light to work? when I dissasembled the dash, I found that the lightbulb in there was 100% working (I use it in the footwell now), and I can't find why the light doesn't work. I've turned the lights on, and I've probed it so much with a multimeter that it thinks its been abducted, but the needle doesn't move, and the light doesn't work.
That would be a great feature...if only I knew how it was supposed to work. Sadly I can't even see how I'm supposed to put a bulb back in there..(I took the bulb out from the glovebox, before I dissassembled the dash :)

Finally, to take the center console out, is it really as simple as turning this stripped looking plastic screw on both sides?? Could it be that simple?

*And to give something back for all the help ya'll have given me here, the lower passenger dash panel, left of the cigarette lighter pullout (where your dash would be if you have the sissy glovebox) is devoid of anything, save dust and 2 wires wrapped in electrical tape.
(the air duct to the rightmost vent goes about 2 inches down from the bottom of the real glovebox; under that, it's all open)
http://cablespeed.com/~klang/Ride_Pics/Bottom_Pass_Dash2.JPG (http://cablespeed.com/%7Eklang/Ride_Pics/Bottom_Pass_Dash2.JPG)
Thanks for your Help....If I have features on my
ride that don't work, then I need to get them to work, as I have so few extras on my "custom" (cough base cough) that I can't afford to have any that I actually have be out of order!

For the Glove Light, I forgot to mention that the speaker on the passenger side also doesn't work, so maybe all the electronics over there are shot?
**Because GM, in their infinite wisdom, decided to leave 1) the glovebox compartment OPEN TO THE SUN (bake those components!), and 2) leave almost 2 feet of speaker wire in a steep U-shaped service loop, which is supposed to sit ontop of the glovebox. (why??)
So I fear that my ride got baked....the electronics in my passenger door are screwy as well--the window just went(it has been weak for a while now), and the power lock is wonky there.
**That probably doesn't relate to the glovebox, but I felt the need to complain about it anyhow. :)

Aah, it sounds like I'm reliving all the things I went through with my '92 park avenue with everything you've got that's messed up!
1) Yes, that's supposed to say "Dynaride", the self leveling rear suspension. There's an option you can be happy about!
2) If I remember correctly, that glove box light is in series with the front ashtray light. Does that light work? If it does, then the problem is the short wire between there and your socket for the glove box light, or the socket itself may be bad. Mine turned out to be the ashtray light socket was shot.
3) My dash speaker was shot also, but it was on the driver side. I wanted to upgrade the speakers anyway, and the stock speaker was shot. Take yours out and hook it up to another stereo to see if it works, because it's also possible you have a bad connection.
4) Yes, the armrest console can be removed by simply removing those 2 screws (thumbs up on that one)
5) The factory cupholders for these cars are easily broken (flimsy plastic) hard to find in reasonable condition, and they're always overpriced on Ebay. Here's what I did to fix that problem, you could do the same: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2299315/2
