ok i have a 1974 pontiac with a 455. but i dontknow if its a s/d h/o or what
how can i tell:icon16:

whats the letters on the block? do you know where to look for them?

its say y8 on the front but i found other numbers to that say zh?this throws me off

y8. sounds like a 455. If its the original 74' motor than yes it would be An HO. The HO in 74 was either a "w8" or "y8". They both had 290HP. Same year 1974 they made these engines wich werent Ho but 250HP and below blocks

Where did you find the numbers ZH. Whats the numbers on the side of the heads?
