Axles...

Huh, I was on ebay and I started to look and see what I could get for selling off my old Stealth parts. When I saw some axles for sell...
then I started thinking. We have the same transmissions (Turbo DSM, FWD) as the non-turbo (3s). Would it be possible to use their axles?
1g 3s' had 18 spline shafts, I think 2g had 25 splines...
My reason for wondering is, the 3s' use equal length halfshafts. Which would cut down on torque steer. If I'm correct, they're probably beefier as well.
If it's gonna be more pain than it's worth, I'm not gonna even attempt it. if it sounds feasible, I'll call up some old buddies and get some measurements and see if everything will work.

This is something I honestly can't give you the answer about. A good way to find out is do this.
Check the PN on say autozone for the axles for both those vehicles. If they are the same on both vehicles than you know they will work.(Or call the dealer and they can tell you if they are the same part)
Also you could measure both axles and tell that way.

Well, the PN thing would be a good idea, but DSMs only have 2 axles... 3s' have 3... two on the driver's side to make them all equal length (cuts down the torque steer)...
I'm gonna see if I can't get some spline counts and measurements... it'd be an awesome mod if possible... though the driver's side halfshaft has a special mount that goes to their block... so I don't know that it'll "bolt-up" maybe with some fabrication though...
