when driving could be 5 miles an hour or 30 there is a knock in the front end, even when the brakes are applied. I had the wheels off and it mite be the stearing arms hitting on either side but I am not sure. I have torked up the torsion bars to fit a little bit bigger tires? any help would be great. This is a 4wd 4 door

Is it speed related then look at the larger tire contacting the suspensiom or steering or brake backing plate - have the tires been on there awhile or is this related. CV axles could be going so check the outer boots for rips and grease. Front diff fluid level checked. Need more info.

Welcome to the forums...

Must have more info!
Does the thumping increase with speed? Does it happen on corners? You mentioned new tires. Is this after the tire change? Have you tried rotating the tires to see if there is any change? Help us out - there's a lot of stuff going on. you can't tease us with "I have a thumping sound".

tires are about 3 years old, no rubbing from the tires no grease leaking from boots. It knocks about the same slow or fast speed. I just changed the Dif fluid so I know it isnt that. There is an arm that connects to the front hub for stearing, could that be knocking, I hear is on both sides, seams to do it more when I am on a street that has ruts. I havent heard it knock on corners but when I am in ruts is when I hear it most.

If this is like a clunk or pop as you hit bumps then its probably your lower ball joints - known problem area. Jack it up and grease them (to allow graese between mating surfaces) and see if that helps - then may have to change them.
