cpu/mass airflow with turbo

How can adjust a cpu or mass air flow sensor to allow a turbo to function properly after it has already been installed. Can I buy a mass air setup for a turbo application on the ford 4.6, and if so where?

you have to buy a missing link. thats what its called. it makes the sensor think everything is normal.

I suggest either a Ford Lightning 90mm MAF or a SCT Big Air 90MM MAF (http://www.sctflash.com/product_BA.php).
You will need a tune. Dyno, mail-order or do it yourself with a software tuning package.

I doubt he needs a 90mm mass.

Buy a Engine managment system, then go get it dyo tuned

You can probably just uprade your injectors, get your maf cal'd fr the new injectors, maybe upgrade the fuel pump, and get a custom chip burned on the dyno.

FYI - Ford MAFs are not calibrated for particular size fuel injectors ... the EEC is.

Why would you run a stock Ford MAF for his application? He will have to run an aftermarket, in which case 351wStang is correct!

"When relating MAF sensors and injector size, one of the biggest misconceptions about the MAF system is that the MAF is 'calibrated' for a given injector. This is only true with aftermarket MAF sensors like the Pro-M, C&L / Vortec and Auto Specialties air meters, not the stock Ford air meters."

Why would you run a stock Ford MAF for his application?

Because a Ford Lightning 90mm MAF will, more than likely, be able to handle the air flow & less problematic than most aftermarket MAFs.

Only if thunderbird muscle is already using an aftermarket MAF that can be "re-calibrated".

So, your saying a Lightning MAF can support 36lbs injectors, if the engine needs it?

If I understand correctly, the ECU can be programed for the larger injectors, right? Thats how the Skylines work at least, either way you have to have an engine management system to do this. But, I did not know that, thanks for the link. good info!
