01' Escape v6 automatic...120,000 + miles
When I turn the engine on in the morning my idle is verry rough and jumpy. I noticed that once I get her warmed up the idle kinda smoothes out a bit...my temp sensor light is on in the guage cluster.
-All fluids are good
-replaced the plugs last night
Could the problem be my heat sensor?

Has there been any recalls for the Ford Escape 01?
Thanks.

Here's a link for recalls www.nhtsa.dot.gov/ (http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/) Another really useful site just for escape owners is a forum www.escape-central.com (http://www.escape-central.com)

I checked on fords website for recalls & got these on my vin search...
-03s10 Seatbelt buckle cover
-04s13 Powertrain controle module re-calibration

Having it serviced wednesday at the local dealer...I'll post up if this cures the problem.

Thanks for the info.

Idle is a little smoother now...still feels bad though.
The tech gave me a copy of the code being thrown...
Description - P0354
- ignition coil D primary/secondary circuit
- open ignition coil primary circuit
- This TDC may be caused by:
- short to ground in ignition coil primary circuit.
- open ignition coil POWER circuit.
- coil
I'll be taking it to my brother who's a ASE Certified master tech. I'll post up afterwards if I have it repaired.

There has been reported..problems with the IAC (idle air control) motor..do a serarch.

Might also be called IAC solenoid or valve.

That has been replaced also...thanks anyways.
Does anybody know where Ignition coil D is located?...facing the engine?
remember there are 6 coil packs for 6 plugs.
Thanks for the info

I'm guessing it's coil #4 too...dunno. I've got some free time tonight & will be wrenching out the problem with my bro...I just hope it's the right coil.
#4 should be the front left coil facing the engine right? The firing order is 123
456
Right?
I'll post up the results.
Thanks!

HA!!!!!!!! Before driving across Houston I decided to take a look for myself. I pulled the plastic cover off, disconnected the battery and WHAMM!! The #4 coil was not even connected!!...No problems now runs super smooth. No codes also. Thanks for the help anyways guys!...Just remember to start off with the smallest solution before getting worried!
