Window problem

hahaha, yet another thing gone wrong with my 94, though this should be pretty basic. Still figured I'd run it on this forum first. Okay, all my power windows work fine, but now I have a problem with the driver's. It goes down about 4-5 inches, then makes a cranking/clicking sound and stops, but goes back up, and occasionally will make the sound again when its all the way up. Strange thing is, it reponds immeidately and still goes up and down as fast as it always did, but it just stops at that point and makes the sound. I think it might be off-track or something, but I've always had maunal windows, so you guys should no more about this than me. Though I did get a good look at what the mechanism looked like when I had to removed my door panel to replace the passenger window after some punk broke it.

You have stripped window motor gears. They're nylon and tend to do this.

Pull the door panel to verify, then go to Autozone. They should have some that are fairly close to OEM.

Welcome to the world of window regulators. Your window might be binding in the track and that what striped the gears or whatever. Take off your door panel and operate the window watching it and guide it with your hand to see if it is binding or see if you can see the damage in the gears. If you do replace your regulator and check for binding so not to strip this one.
