92 LeSabre kills while driving

It is a Limited if that matters.

Crank Angle Sensor replaced about 6 months ago.

Newer battery, alternator replaced about a year ago.


I'll be driving and the motor will shut off. Most times, it will just start right back up on its own after about 2 seconds.

Today, though, on an 80 mile trip, I actually had to let it roll to a stop where I put it in PARK and started the car right back up and continued to drive.

I'm not familiar with automatics (winter beater) so I don't know if I can try to start it after it dies and doesn't restart. Can I do that???

Otherwise, any and all input is very much appreciated. What could it be?

This issue seems common with these cars. Mine has done it as have several others on this forum. The usual answers apply: check fuel supply, fuel filter, fuel pressure, spark, ignition control module, crank sensor, computer, wiring, ground connections, engine codes, and if you can, get it to repeat while hooked up to a professional scanner. In my case, it turned out to be the ignition control module (about $200 part new), which I bought and which fixed it from then on.
