Official Metro Parts Mail Order list

DOCTORBILL

I am always looking for "parts"

I have a few places in my "Bookmarks" to order used Geo Metro parts from.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a really, really big list of such places to order from
while on the Internet?

If you know of any reputable Web Sites to inquire and then order from, please
add a post to this thread with the name and link.

Please go to the link you have, to check and to see if it still works.

Highlight the link on the address bar of your browser and press ctrl-C.

Put the cursor into your Post and press ctrl-V to paste it in on a line by itself.

This will help all of us find parts and also get the best prices.

If you get cheated, put it on this thread and we'll teach them a lesson!

DoctorBill

There is no interest in it....

I'd do it myself, but I don't know how.

DOC;
I don't think its a lack of interest (we all need parts) I think its that you've covered the majority of sources. But heres one to add for used parts http://car-part.com/ it will let you search by state or region and give you an idea whats out there. Naturally they only catalog the larger parts so tirm parts and small stuff probably won't be listed.

I would add Transmission Exchange (www.txchange.com) in Oregon. They have all the soft parts - clutches and band - to rebuild the auto transmission on the metro. Good price - as I recall about $2 for each clutch plate and each disc and about $13 for the band. They also sell the gasket pack and depending on your luck they also have a good selection of used hard parts for the transmission. They may do a packaged rebuild kit and can also order you any special transmission service tools from ATEC or KM if you need it but for that I've found ebay a better source for price when they do become available.

You can email the forum mod and ask this thread to be made a "sticky"

That will give you another 5% off your bill....They ship quick (And Cheap $$$), Prices are good. Here's a Rock Auto Discount code I found off the Impala SS Forum, which I've been a long time member.....:iceslolan (Code is good until February 20, 2007).

A place that has excellent resources, if you want to upgrade your tires and/or rims, is http://www.performanceplustire.com. They have a lot of 13" rims that will fit the Geo Metros (13x5.5 with 4x114.3 lug pattern). AND they have 38mm offset which is perfect. Anyway, that's where I'm getting my rims and 13" tires from in the near future for my Geo.

Hey Doctor Bill. Cool to see you're still hangin around. Yea, there's a huge supply on Ebay as well. I bout an engine kit, complete with pistons and rings for just over a couple hundred bucks. You'll see lots of JDM engines and trannys. I seen trannys for a couple hundred bucks, so why bother rebuilding.
They may have went up, since the price of gas has went up and Japenese engine dealers will capitolize on this.

On other notes. I still drive my '91 and it just turned over 203,000. Tonight, I'm picking up a '96 4 dr sedan. Other than having a bit of minor damage on the hood, it's a good little rig. 4cylinder 5 speed, unlike my other car, so I'll probably drive it and my wife will drive the other.

ACORN BULGE TYPE LUG NUTS 10mmx1.25

Summit Racing has 10mmx1.25 acorn bulge lug nuts that work awesome with aftermarket wheels if you don't want to have to upgrade to 12mm wheel studs:

http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=GOR%2D41117&N=700+115&autoview=sku

The part is Gorilla 41117. They're fairly cheap at $5.69 for a set of 4. I have them on my 1992 Geo Metro and work perfectly.

Summit Racing also has locking acorn bulge lug nuts that are 10mmx1.25:
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=GOR%2D71611N&N=700+115&autoview=sku

That part is Gorilla 71611N. They are $17.69 for a set of 4.

Hope these help a lot of you wondering where to get acorn bulge lug nuts in 10mm size!

I am in need of information regarding a geo metro convertable. The top will not close . The handle will only lock one side. The horn doesn't work. How many quarts of oil does it take to change oil? It is a 1991 LSI. Any help would be appriciated . I really need to find out what the name of the locking devise is on the top and where I might find one. Also it has a 3 cylinder engine Thanks

You can post the Link and name, but refrain from posting their huge ads full of
items and prices and deals.

Our viewers can click the link if they want. Forums are not for dealers or anyone else to post ads.

Just the link and a few words about your experience is enough.

I posted the fact that one of their ads appears in a Science magazine - a magazine
devoted to scientific stuff - an odd place to put an ad for used car parts.

It wasn't the same thing.
