The high mounted stop light bulb on my 1996 Camry got fused. I bought the bulb, but could not open the housing/cover of that light.
I looked into the repair manuals. All of them tell to "pry open" the cover (without elaborating). However, I couldn't pry it open; off course, I didn't used extreme brute force. Can anybody tell me how to open it (or any special trick I need to use to pry it out, like prying left side first and then ............) ?

Try loosing the tabs holding it on from inside the trunk. That's what I had to do with my 94. I also didn't want to break anything. When you look inside the trunk it will become obvious.
