Spec can't plead the fifth... it's only in the US Constitution.
In New Zealand you would be required to:
"Swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth."
Incidentally, if someone gave away my 'guy's stuff' I think I'd be going to court to get it back - I think that would be a subject of a pre-nup or in New Zealand a pre-relationship agreement under the Property (Relationship) Act*.
*In NZ, if you live with someone for any length of time, the courts can divide up the property between the couple. Depending on the length of time and various circumstances, this can lead to a similar division to one under matrimony. You contract out of the Act by having the equivalent of a pre-nup for common law couples.
In New Zealand you would be required to:
