If I'm looking for sound quality/good bass/subwoofer control?
Is 1 preamp enough if I only have one amplifier?

i would go for the alpine... it has more control over your bass and sound quality using different frequencies... and yes one set of pre amps is enough but it depends on what your trying to do... if u wanna power your door speakers and subs then u need two sets(front and rear) if ur only powering subs then yes 1 set is enough...
