vacuum/idle issue

Does anyone know why when I'm at an intersection and take my foot off the brake my idle would dip right down? The idle intermittenly dips down with my foot off the brake, but it will rise back up if I depress the brake pedal. It doesn't always happen, but it has been happening more and more lately...I know its a vacuum issue, but am unsure if its a prob with the booster, or in the intake somewhere? My vacuum lines check out ok..anyone have this problem before

i have a somewhat similar problem... but its with the clutch...
when i let off the clutch when the car isnt in gear the idle drops a bit. the only reason i notice it is because the car starts to vibrate a little.

Viper, the brake booster, as im sure you know, is part of the vacuum system. and thedead..your transmission is connected to the engine even when its in neutral, It could just be the extra drag from the internals of the transmission, but if its dropping considerably, then its something to look into.

I know the booster is part of the vacuum system. Most cars domestic, or otherwise that I've driven have always caused the idle to go down slightly when the brake is depressed. Then after I lift my foot the idle generally returns to normal. My car is kinda showing the opposite symptoms and I've never dealt with them. Thats why I'm worried that possibly the booster isn't getting the vacuum it needs from the engine, causing the idle to rise when its activated. I just pulled the hose of the booster and the idle shot up, so she is getting lots of vacuum...I'll do the tightness check tomorrow...its weird though..the brakes are tight and the pedal is high
