my friend proposed this pretty original idea to me today. He was telling me that it would be pretty sick if i could get some of those neon lights that flash on and off to the bass from the subs and use em as an under-body lighting kit. About how much do those lights cost and how would i go about setting it up. right now its only an idea... but if its possible it might turn out to be pretty sick.

Are you talking about with the neons you can buy with the interface built in? If you put those under a car, they will probably break a lot easer than a StreetGlow Gold kit because those are made to take the abuse. StreetGlow's are also a lot bigger which gives you a better glow.

You MIGHT be able to rig a StreetGlow Music Interface to your UB kit. Their website says it controlls "Accent Tubes" so I don't know if you can hook it up to an UB kit.

One word of caution tho... Cops might get you for that because it would be flashing all the time which could be taken as impersonation of a police officer.

Ive seen a nice looking setup where they just put a bunch oh those small 15 dollar strobe lights under the car and wire them all through an interface so they all hit with tha beat and it looks as if lightning striking under your car.

The street glow gold does not like to be truned on and off the trans former would have to shut on and off to ge the effect and i think it would burn it up.

kinda getting off the original thread here, but just a question
Gold series streetglow is obviously the more expensive and more power of the two, but if im just using it casually, which one is the better to get of the two?
and between them, is there THAT much of a noticable light difference that is emitted

You should still get the Gold Series. Its just a little more money for much better quality. I have installed both Blue Line and Gold Series neons. The Gold Series is better made by far. Also, Street Glow is much better about replacing Gold Series neons than the Blue Line.

It's possible. I've seen it done. Take the street glow Music Interface and rig it straight from the transformer. But cfmotorsports is right. It'll burn that transformer up with the constant flickering. now maybe if you set the resistance real low so it only beats to the big bass hits it would ease up on it a little. But feel free to go for it if you're ready to accept the possibility that you may have to send StreetGlow a burnt out transformer every now and then.

Also, Gold Series is much better. I would definately recommend it. I've used a few different types trying to be cheap but ended up losing way more than I had to when I could have just paid the extra few bucks and gotten a Gold series. I'm gonna cast my vote that it's definately the best

Too much to read - but heres the deal, if you were to do that - you would need to buy like 10 tubes, at $40 each... is it really worth it?
