Ok so i ordered a 1G BOV from MachV, (probably my first mistake) for my 98 GSX. http://www.machv.com/mitcombypval.html. They say they give you an adapter to fit the stock pipeing but in no way does it fit, the holes dont line up, unless you plan on drilling holes in the brand new BOV. If i knew how to put pictures on here i would. I planned on ordering the upper intercooler pipe when i put the aftermarket intercooler on but it doesnt look like that will happen. So i ordered a UIC pipe from dejon tools with the 1G BOV flange. Not sure if this will help anyone, but just thought id throw it out there for anyone whose planning on doin the same mod that i was thinking. Im lovin all the supposed direct bolt on parts that im buyin for this car that dont seem to be just "direct bolt on" without making other modifications. Guess thats the joy of owning a DSM

If the holes are closer together than the 1g BOV spacing, odds are they sent you an adapter for a Greddy BOV. Shit happens.

Yeah i wasnt too broken up about it, its just that when im payin good money for somthing id actually like to have the right one sent to me especially when thats what they specify in their description, anyway i got my UIC pipe and put the 1g bov on and boosted a nice 26 psi with some nasty fuel cut on the stock t25, and stock fuel system, and havent messed with the boost at all since i upped it to 15 psi with the stock 2g. I guess that goes to show how much they leak. So i lowered down to 14.5 psi with the 1g and its a hell of alot quicker.

Just a general tip for everyone, if you get a wrong part, contact the vendor. People on forums can provide info, but can't correct order mishaps. :) I'm sure whoever took your money will get you the right part. People make mistakes.
Good to see that the BOV upgrade was a good one, enjoy.

I was able to hit 25 psi on the t25 for very short periods of time, maybe 300-500 rpm or so at low rpm. Even when I was running 20+ it would still taper to 15 as usual. But the point is it will make for some high boost at low rpm on cars without airflow-enhancing mods.

Well im not sure the exact psi but i know it was close to 26 and didnt have the maf sensor plugged in so it was runnin real shitty. Got back plugged it in, turned off the check engine light, turned the boost way down and went back for another run. This time i was at 19 psi and hittin fuel cut. So i turned it down again to 14. On cold nights ill take it out and boost around 16 and still hit fuel cut. But as for the boost it was makin on that first run i know it was well over 20

i think $145 for a 1g bov was your first mistake.

Yeah i wont argue with that but thats the first thing i bought after my turbo intake, so i really didnt shop around. Now i know to do that, and especially know not to go through machv for anything without looking at anybody elses prices first. On top of that it took them 3 weeks for me to finally get it. But hey i've wasted alot more money on a lot less. Live and learn
