Help! Key won't work. 87 190e

My key won't turn in the ignition. In order to remove the switch, I have to turn the key to position 1. I need to replace the switch because the key won't turn. If I could get the key into position 1, I wouldn't need to replace it. Since I can't turn the key, I CAN'T replace it.:banghead:

Solved the problem by throwing money at it. Made some poor sucker at an autoshop drill the lock cylinder out. He retaliated by making me give him $850.

I think it hurt me more than him.:shakehead
