Are you telling me to search knowing that there are already threads covering this? If there are please kindly post a link. I did search and found nothing covering 1.8 laser engines.
If your positive it's in the search please provide a link.

If your that lazy to search for the answer then, what you do is call a local parts shop, autozone, advanced auto, ect then ask them to look up a timing belt and ask if its an interference motor.

lol maybe you didnt understand what i was saying.
I said I already searched for it and found nothing if you are so sure it will come up with a search post a link instead of getting a attitude.
If its that big of a deal, nevermind.
I this not a place where people can ask questions about cars? I did do a search and did not find what I was looking for.
Thanks for ruining the thread though. lose the attitude and do not reply.

Since you seem to know my situation better then me. I guess I need to explain why I cant call a parts shop and ask them. Half of them are telling me it is a interference motor and half are telling me its not. It is not perfectly clear rather or not this engine is interference. I have looked in other places and have not found a definite answer. I figured maybe someone here knew about this particular engine.
So if you assume I am lazy or havent searched chill out and dont bother replying at all.
I need help fixing the car not your worthless replys

Just got over being a newbie eh? With a whole 80 posts? And then you talk to a new member like this acting as if you've been here forever.
I don't think so. This kind of shit don't fly in my book. You either drop the omnipotent attitude or you'll get a little vacation. We clear?

Yes, please do include a link as I have never once seen this question brought up before. Don't think that the search button has every answer Mike. :nono:
Now, back to nx02nx02's original question...
I do believe that the 1.8 is an interference motor but I am not 100% sure of it. If it follows suit to typical DSM motors then it is, but I've never had any actual experiences with the 1.8. Oh and don't worry, some of these guys just don't know how to legitimently answer a simple question. I saw no need for their responses.

Ahh, see I was wrong. lol
But what I can't figure out is why all the other DSM motors would be interference except for that one.

Probably because it's a SOHC and the rest are DOHC? But then again I guess the 4g64 is a SOHC and is that an interference motor? Just a guess.

Not sure why... Kind of odd if you think about it. Typical DSM situation. Something just doesn't add up right. lol

Sorry about that stuff i hade some family issues lately. Mom got sick and in hospital in michigan and im in florida.Im just kind of it a touchy mood latley. Sorry again for the posts. IM gonna stay off the internet for a while. I took the time to call autozone back in michigan and talk to my buddy thats big in to dsm's and he said their not interference motors. He said most ,not all, but most SOHC's are non intertference because they have only one cam, one set of valves to close in time not 2 sets like DOHC's.

Apology accepted. I know how those things can be but you don't have to avoid AF altogether though because of it. Just think before you post.
