Lancia Delta HF Integrale 16v. Martini (The red one by Italeri)

I have always loved the Lancia Delta HF Integrales and this is the first one I've ever built. The hit is by Italeri and in so, is not the same quality as the Hasegawa one, but it's also a lot cheaper, so I figure I would build this one first to hone my skills before I takel the later.
The kit is not as detailed as the Hasegawa one, in so it has no photoetched parts, no engine (even though the hood is detached), not even disk breaks! But, in its defense, the driver's side door opens :)
The decals are by Cartograf, and are gorgeous, almost no "sides" to them and are very easy and forgiving to apply. I thought about doing some detailing, but other than some wire mesh, I really don't think it's worth doing more on this one. That, and, well... I'm currently broke.
Here are some pics...

The body is pretty rough and needed a lot of cleaning to get rid of flash, mold lines. The only sink marks were on the door which were filled in and sanded.

The grills on the bumper are plain plastic with no holes, so I've cut them out and am going to replace them with metal mesh

The Italeri kit is a rebox of the Protar kit - just some minor trivia.
I didn't realise the detail is so heavy in that kit, although I am certain that won't detract from the final model :)
Does it include the Martini decals?

I did not realize it was a re-box. It does include the Martini decals, and as I mentioned, they are the best part of the kit. It's actually coming along pretty nicely, and even though its not that detailed, I think it will look really good. I'm typing this as I'm waiting to apply the second wet coat on the body actually.

The seatbelts and hardware were molded onto the seats. I thought about sanding them off, but then thought better of it as they are really thick. Then I thought about cutting tape the correct side and covering the moldings, but it looked like crap, so I just painted and weathered them a bit.

The dash. As I said, not much detail, but looks decent enough. I'm going to weather the pedals and pick out more of the details before I install it.

The body after the second wet coat. Hard to see how it looks from the picture, but its coming along pretty good. I'll try to take better pics once its all painted and polished.

Here's an update. Body was painted and polished, made some mistakes while masking but luckily they will be covered by the decals. My camera sucks so the pictures are pretty crap. I'll take some proper ones once it's finished.

Here is a picture of the un-decaled side. You can see an unfortunate scratch on the front fender. Thank god for those awesome Cartograf decals:

95% done! Just have to finish the front bumper, add the rear lights, decals on roof, vents and a final polish, and this baby will be finished!

Your Lancia just killed that horse! But seriously, nicely done model so far. I am looking forward to seeing more! :)
