Cruise Control Problem

1997 Nissan 200SX-SE. Put a new clutch cable on. Reconnected everything, cruise doesn't work now. Worked fine before.
When dash switch is engaged, it turns on green like normal. When the 'set' switch on th wheel is pressed, the green dash 'cruise' light comes on and flashes, but it doesn't work. Won't turn off until dash switch is turned back off. I tried adjusting the switch at the clutch pedal, turned it in until it moves the pedal, still doesn't work.
Anybody have familiarity with this at all?

Found th problem-loose connector going into the pump under the hood.
