Good additions to a full stock 02 accord?

Sorry if im posting this in the wrong board. What are some good initial upgrades to a full stock 02 accord SE? Its a 4speed automatic (Lame I know). Im told an intake cylinder is a good inexpensive upgrade for the ammount of HP it adds. Im looking mostly for highway speed and stability, im not too concerned about flying off the line. My air intake thing has a pipe comming out of it thats not attatched to anything and my buddy says if I run that to the grates on the bottom of my body it will add a great deal of intake and thus HP, any truth to that?

How much do good performance spark plugs cost and do they make a difference?

Any suggestions? The more specific the better, if you can throw in brand names and product names it would help a lot. Thanks!

this thread is really basic. id personally leave the accord alone, as you wont find much potential in it. yes there is a huge aftermarket for it, since the demand is so high, but if you want to mod it, go ahead. i cant remember if the se is the v6 or not. this will be moved to the honda section. ill pm a mod now.

Thanks! If your just looking alittle performance, maybe mostly mpg a cold air intake system is the best way to go. this system does put the filter under the body and gets outside air instead of ram air which makes the motor run better and cleaner. But if you plan on driving in bad weather get one that converts into ram air so your not sucking water/snow into the motor. AEM K&N are the best of the best but almost any brand will do its job.

you can get one cheaper, from ebay. it will do the exact same thing for ruftly 30-40 bucks total. for me, i would just fit the car with a nice sound but thats me.

now, you buddy says running the 'mystery' pipe to the front of the car for more hp? there is none to be found there. i mean 10 less degrees Fierenheight is = to about 1%.(just a ball park figure). basically the short/cold intake takes out the 'sound defener' in your car's intake, making it more audable. it also allows the car to bring in more air easier, kinda like drinking water from a water hose apposted to a straw. you will hear your car a lot more with the aftermarket intake, get maybe 2mpg more, and will want to floor it often since im pretty sure you will like the sound.

performance spark plugs....dont waste your time. its not worth your money, as im sure you dont want to be shipping out about 50 bucks for a set that you have to change every year. id just stick to the ones that are maybe 2 bucks apiece, since : A) they are cheaper, and B) no need for them as this is basically a stock engine.

if you have anymore questions, shoot me a PM.

People keep telling me about some kind of little Turbine cyclinder thing you pop into your intake to increase the air velocity and it helps keep the engine clean or something. Whats that called so I can look it up and do you know anything about it?

dont get it, end of story. i could save you 3 sec, by throwing away the 30 bucks into the trash. biggest waste of cash ever. in sense it works, but there really isnt any gains to it.

turbo kit is the only way you are going to get any power out of the SE.
