Hello.
Ok, first, let me tell you..I live in Oregon, and sometimes we can get some pretty bad winters up here, and I'm looking to get an AWD car. I want a car that has some nice performance, but doesn't cost alot(maybe 5k or less).

Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions as to what I should get please let me know..thanks:)

A subaru SVX perhaps? I think those could be had for about 5k or so. Other than that, an early 90's DSM car would work too.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is a DSM car? I have heard the term before on the forums, but I don't know what it is.

Eagle talon/mitsu eclipse/plymouth laser......I think all except the laser come in AWD turbo versions

Lasers came with turbos, and I think they had AWD too... ask Polygon, he'd know.

The DSM is a pretty good pick, although their AWD system is not the most advanced. I would vote for a Celica All Trac, just because they are so cool. About the same price range.

I never knew the AWD Volvos went for so low. I know you can pick up a 240 GLT for about $2000 in very good condition, and spend another $1500 getting 300hp out of it... Fiery swedish meatballs indeed!

Depends on how much money you whnt to spend? And are you looking for performance or a car that takes you from point A to point B?

Get an old Impreza 2.5, or an even older Audi 4000cs, 5000CS Turbo quattro.

If you have 5k and you want AWD, there arent many options. An AWD DSM for 5k will probaly be well over 100,000 miles and they arent very reliable to begin with.

Well shit i was going to say get the new Vibe AWD, that car is bad ass especially with mods coming out for it. But i would say go with the SVX for a 5K budget.
