To move or not to move...

Well guys, things have been very interesting lately...
First off, a few weeks ago I was promoted on here to moderator and that made me happy. Then I just got promoted at work to a full time position as a project manager for 2nd and 3rd shift. It starts tomorrow for me... Very good times indeed for me.
But, despite all this I'm still not in the greatest of situations. The Talon project has dug me into a little bit of a hole and I'm trying to get it finished up here. The Firebird has something new breaking every week. Dad is back to being a dick again, got my ex on my mind 24-7, and Ohio's weather sucks... All this + late nights with sad music = emo nights. lol
Anyways... My best friend has just landed a job in Sarasota, FL. and wants me to move down there with him. Normally I would have been like hell yeah and I'l be jumping on the ball about it. But in this point in time I'm not so sure if its a good idea or a bad idea. I need to get my financial situation straightened out here first and get the Talon running before then or something. The other option would be to sell off both my cars, get something new and reliable and move to FL. I would have many good job oppourtunitys in FL but the thing is, I just got this full time job here makin 10.50 an hour + overtime and full benefits. The other advantage to staying here is that I live at home with my parents and don't have many bills. I did the whole living on my own thing for a while with the ex and it was expensive supporting two people. At least with him I know everything would be split 50/50... I think I would love FL because I hate the weather here in Ohio. Perfect example, I started typing this and it was nice and sunny, now its a complete hardcore thunderstorm out...
I guess really I want opinons on my situation. At this point in the Talon project I would lose a lot of money from it if I sold it off and I really would like to finish it. :(
Stupid Ohio... Oh joy, the thunderstorm has turned into a snow storm... Completely retarded... Only in Ohio can you see all 4 seasons transition within a 20 minute period...
Anybody live in FL or near Sarasota? I want opinons on the area, job oppourtunitys and such. I looked into some jobs and it looks like I could get a semi-ok job makin about 10 bucks an hour. That might cover the expenses for a while but I'm sure I would need to be making more than that. The other option is that I could always go back to school for a different degree... I'm just not sure about anything anymore.

Pssht. I grew up in FL all my life mostly.
And it's the greatest place on earth, FL I mean ;)
Hehe. No, you should just move there because I'm moving back there shortly, and that means that me, you and clipsekid can go out and drink some beers. And that would be awesome.
I mean FL is a cool place to live, there is alot going on there and they have some of the best beaches in the world. (Siesta key ;) Which is near Sarasota)
I mean it's really not that expensive to live there, If you can move into a situation to where to get to FL and already have a job lined up and a place to live I would say go for it man. Time to spread those wings and get away from te parents house.

Yeah, see I already will have a place lined up with my friend and from what I can venture to see it would be no more expensive than living up here by myself or something. Which I kind of did if anybody can remember the ex girlfriend situation. lol
I'm really leaning towards it but it wouldn't be until next month or so I would think... I kinda wanna finish the Talon before I would move and sell the Firebird. That wouldn't be too bad then I think.
I am kind of excited. :)

Yea im pissed off like a right now so ur going to hear a long story.
1st off you need to descide what you want to do
1. go back to school and get more of a degree, maybe something that has more demand. fix the talon and take it to FL.
2. clean up home, fix talon, sell firebird, realize that what your doing home isnt cutting it anymore and you want to better youself.
3. Search for a job, dont let the area scare ya. look ALL OVER.. if the pay is good and its what you enjoy doing then hell move there..
im done
i give up

I say hold back on the move for now. Stay with the Talon and get that beast running. I wanna see it! When the Talon is running, sell the F-bird and then migrate to the good-'ol south with the Talon. On the way down, pass through SC and holler at me :grinyes:
Seriously though, get out of Ohio...I have been up there many times and know how depressing it can be. Like an above poster said "spread your wings"; true I still live at home, lol, but plan on moving to the West Coast.
Not to sound like an ass. But $10.50 an hour....WOW...There is ALOT better out there. You gotta be a risk taker if you ever want to go places in life.
As for going back to school...I HIGHLY recommend it. "The more you learn the more you earn"
Seems as though you are always going through a crisis of somesort, lol. As for the ex g/f...fuck it, there are many more fishes in the sea. I been through a rough breakup before, and I know how that can put a whole damper on you life.

Ya man, move on down to Florida! Like Wil said, we can all chill out and have some of the baddest DSMs in SoFla. Only bad thing is that Sarasota is on the west coast, and I'm all the way on the east coast. (http://www.kgc.cc/maps/florida.gif Sarasota and West Palm Beach). But one good thing is that there is a track right by Sarasota in Bradenton. Also, no emissions down here, so let that talon pollute as much as you want haha.
OR, you could always move closer to me, and be part of SoFlaDSM which encompases the Palm Beaches, Boca, and the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood areas. We "broke off" from the Miami DSM crew cause they are poopie-heads lol.

I came from michigan to palm coast, fl its weird going form 70 in summer to 65 in winter. I say trade the firebird for a truck rent a towdolly, or trailer and tow the talon down here the only thing you probably wont like it all the rich kids with the ricers that their parents paid for. Maby save some money and move in a month or so. It is pretty easy to get jobs here, but its all up to you dude. I say go for it if you dont like it go back.

Wow, lots of responses for me to come home to here. lol
Well I talked to my friend tonight and one of the guys he knows down there is never at his house so he is letting my friend stay there for free as long as he maintains the house. Pretty sweet deal for him if ya ask me. He can save up a ton of money now and it also allows me to take the time I need to get everything straightened out here first...
I'm thinking that this might indeed happen. I guess I will finish up the Talon as soon as I can and drive the Firebird here until I would be ready to move. (It would be better in the snow than the Talon, also I'm fixing all the rust on the Talon so I never want it to see the snow again.) Then I would definetly get another job lined up before moving... Maybe I can get a few certifications up here before I move and it'll help with getting a job. Who knows. At least I am not rushed for a desicion now. :)
I really do hope that I can get a good bit of money saved up now before I move. It would be nice to have backup cash to fall back onto in case something happens. Now as long as I don't meet any new women up here I'll be all set. lol
