Welcome to AF, there are 3 o2 sensors, which one and why do you think you need a new one?

THANKS FOR INFO ON THREE OF THEM, WHEN I TOOK IT TO AUTOZONE THE PLUGGED THIER LIL COMPUTER IN MINE AND THE CODES THE MAN SAY IT PRESENTED WAS MIS FIRE ( DUE TO IGNITION COIL WIRE BEING BURNT) AND 02 SENSOR NEEDED REREPLACING. DOES THAT SOUND ACCURATE TO YOU? I REALLY APPRECIETE YOUR RESPONSE AND ANY ADVISE THAT YOU MAY BE ABLE TO OFFER

You need the codes plus a misfire can set an o2 code, try clearing them and see if the o2 code comes back if the misfire is corrected, then rescan and post the actual code.

Do you still have the misfire? What does the code say for the maf? This seems to be bouncing around here, AZ cannot diagnose this problem, you may need a pro here to analyze live data on a real scanner, not a code reader.

Actually there are 4 O2 sensors, on a 5.0 and 4.3 there are 3 between the engine and the cat(one close to each exhaust manifold and one after the y pipe) and one after the cat. On the 350 and 454 with the dual cats there are two pre cat sensors and two post cat sensors. The two O2 sensors closest to the engine(called bank 1 sensor 1 and bank 2 sensor 1) are the only ones that can affect how the engine runs, the other two are there to monitor the efficiency of the catalytic converter.

Has the fuel pressure been checked(key on engine off)? Does the pressure hold within spec(59-66psi) after the fuel pump quits running? Has the fuel filter been changed recently? Did the problems start after having the intake manifold gasket replaced?

There is another thing to check and it involves pulling the distribitor. The vortec 350s have problems with the distribitor gear,it will run rough with a worn out distribitor gear.Look for shiney spots and most auto parts stores stock the distribtor gears.Make sure to mark the distribitor before pulling out,the timing is not adjustable and has to be set with a scan tool(0 degrees, look for the cam sensor retard)
