I have a 96 beretta z26 with 3.1 that just blew a head gasket.:frown: I have found a 95 beretta with front end damage and a 3.1 for a good price. Will the 95 3.1 engine go into the 96 without a problem? Is there any difference between the 2(sensors, etc. ?)

95 was the changeover year for GM emissions and the 3100 engine. The 96 has roller pivot rockers and is OBD-II. The 95 could have ball and pivot rockers and could be OBD-I. If this is the case, many things are different and would make the swap much more difficult. If the 95 has the roller pivot rocker arms and is OBD-II compliant (check the emissions certification label under the hood), then the swap is straight up.
