I know that this is the Honda\Acura forum, but I figure all Car audio is about the same no matter what you drive... anyway... I havea friend with a Ranger, and He wants a little more Bang than his current Sanyo HU (45x4 max) and Pioneer 6x8's is side pannels. He does not have much money, or room, I was thinking about a 6 1/2 component system or some nice 6 1/2 2 ways (about 100 watts RMS each) and run them with a smaller amp. We would end up making small Boxes for the speakers and set them behind the seat. We only have about 5" depth to work with behind the seat. Anyone else have any suggestions on what I sould get for him?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Sounds fine to me... for the speakers i would stick with decent to high end components depending on your budget. As far as subs go, i think it'll be pretty hard to be able to mount one in a box with 5" of depth to work with. But send pics in once its all done. i want to see how it turns out

oops, sorry my bad. i mis-read your post. its the speakers behind the seats. Ok, in that case i would put the components in the doors and (if those pioneers hit pretty hard and sound nice i would put those behind the seat and power all four speakers off an amp.
another alternative would be getting small 6 1/2" or 8" subs behind the seat and then the components in the door.

Are you upgrading the deck? If not, you might want to check and see how many RCA outputs it has if any before you go buy an amp.
