hey guys, I've been looking to buy an '87 CRX to use as my winter crasher (at least for now), but I want to fix it up a bit, and also find out what the aftermarket world has to offer it.

If any of you guys know where I can get anything for the 1st gen, i'm very interested.

I have been seeing a fender flared kit on a few 1st Gens' out there on the net, but can't seem to find out where the hell they came from.

Any ideas, suggestions, comments, etc. greatly appreciated.

There's two fender flare kits that I know of. One is from Houseman Autosport (http://www.housemanautosport.com/), and the other is available through Red Pepper Racing (http://www.redpepperracing.com/) (great 1984-87 Civic/CRX forum too).

if you want a street driven CRX. do NOT get the houseman autosport kit. that one is meant for an off-road (race car) ONLY.

Just swap it with a b16 in it! go to www.hasport.com . If you get that b16 in your car you would be quicker then me!:) Plus they have more aftermarket parts available!

B16A in 87 CRX = expensive, time-consuming swap.

a local shop does it for 3300. So its not that bad for an 87 rex.

hey thanks, finally... ...an actual manufacturer name. Thanks man! Hey, shadowboy any clue where I can begin to look for that kit? I think I wanna try and get one for the crx to mold on after the winter. And I'm thinkin', if I could get my hands on two kits, I wanna custom fit another on my '89 Accord Hatch as well. I don't know what it is, I just got somethin' for the old school honda hatch/fast backs.

It's not a real Mugen kit. More info here:

That's totally NOT a Mugen kit.

It is available from www.redpepperracing.com/forum, I think it's
$750USD for the whole kit.

OK Here's the details

The kit is made by O'Brien Motorsports a small race prep shop in the Toronto area. It is similar to the Mugen kit but IS NOT a mugen kit.

It is available through www.redpepperracing.com exclusively as far as I know. Although I purchased it directly from the manufacturer because I met them at the race track!

It is not simply a bolt on kit......significant mods must be made to the rear wheel well area to allow this kit to be used.

If You have any further questions about my car please post them in the Red Pepper Racing forum!

Cheers

No kit, weld in some engine mounts get drives specially made, rip the wiring out, mutate the new wiring with parts off the old wiring cos all the controls and plugs different, get an ulcer, go nuts from seeing wires all day for two and a half weeks, turn the key while standing by with extinguisher,,and pray OUR FARTHER, WHO ART IN HONDA, VTEC IS MY AIM.......
F#%k it works,
Brakes are however not sufficent, upgrade asap.
Get a mk1 Vtec and be different
Dont fancy losing :eek7: your marbles, get a kit.
One problem am told I should have an input from catlitic converter for Vtec to function correctly?????????
Might explain why I could only do 125mph on the autobahn:frown:
