Raced a COBRA!!!!!!

Well I was going to school this fine evening at a stop light and look what comes up next to me, a mustang, I dont know what it is until I look over and see the snake emblem and am like OH CRAP!!
A COBRA!!!! Not the 12 second cobra, but still. So I thought for a minute is it safe to race, any cops, it was looking good so I was like what the heck. We start off slow which I regret now because with the gears I might have been able to get a jump on him, but he begins to mash so I do as well. I go about 3/4 down on the gas, He goes through two gears and pulls to the front of my bumper, so I floor it and I seem to stick right at his rear bumper without him pulling on me an inch for what seemed like forever, until we had to turn and the race is over, we only got to about 50 or 60 so it wasnt that long. Now im not saying by no means Id beat a Cobra because that would be just stupid, but it was a good run.....It made me feel good when he wasnt pulling on me.

Then about a month ago I raced a M5, not the 500hp bmws, but the 400hp M5. We were going about 30 me and him mash it, I hold for about three seconds and then he just pulls away, and I pulled onto a freeway and that was the end of it.

onsidering the "not a 12 second cobra" I'd assume it's an early 4.6 one, non-supergharged.

Could be an even earlier 5.0.

Its not everyday you get to race a Cobra, thats why its frekin awesome. Even though its not supercharged, it still does a good 13 so its decent.

hell u need to move to tampa, u can race them all damn day...where i live i sware its sum damn law to have a cobra or a roush.....they have a meet every thurs night a few miles from my house at sonic. im almost tired of seeing them.

I've raced the supercharged cobra's before. They are quick for factory cars but still clicked it off before I was boosted. Its very easy to switch pulleys and see another 40+ horse. I don't think one would be much of a challenge now.

Well if I could beat one before any boost. I am sure with a additional 50% increase it should be semi easy but like I said they are very quick for factory cars.

none of the non-blown cobras before 03 are that quick in stock trim..not to say you can't still add a kenne bell blower to like an 01 and see 11's with ease.

If anyone were to get a cobra and care about gas milage they should be publically executed.
