hey new to the forums but i know alot about cars(no not just rimz and stuff). Well heres my problem, im saving for a first car and im considering the grand prix GTP or the Buick Regal GS along with an A4,Corrado/Jetta. I like the euro cars because of the great handleing, but somewhat lack of power. While most of you know the pontiac has tons of power but not to good in the turns. So heres my question can a GP or Regal be modded to handle like or near that of the other cars im considering? And how much would it roughly cost?
thanks
thanks

Welcome to AF.
The handling can be improved at a reasonable cost. KYB struts, poly bushings, aftermarket and GMPP stabilizer bars, and strut tower bars (front and rear). Tires are an important factor too. Getting up to .85 g on a 200 ft skid pad with these mods is not uncommon.
Just checkout the specialty, HP parts for Grand Prixs at 3800Performance, ZZPerformance, W Body Store and PFYC, etc.

I think my GTP turns great, but I also have KYB struts which made a noticable difference. I think the handling on the Buick feels a little softer and less tight on corners. Also, I remembering looking at a Buick and I think the 2dr GP has a little more leg room in the back than the 4dr Buick. Just something to consider maybe.

My Regal GS has the touring suspension and handles as well as my GTP. Much better cruising and traveling car overall. Plus reliability is better. I've had less problems with my Regal.
The 4 door GTPs and Regals have similar leg room which is plenty. The problem with 2 door Grand Prixs is the door is cumbersome and not suited for family or passengers. Also, the 4 door models have better side impact collision protection of the occupants due to the door frame safety bar.
The Regal GS is the ideal sleeper and less of an attention getter of Cops. All mods applicable to a GTP are applicable to a Regal GS which is plentiful and more relevant to how much dinero you have to spend on it.
