I have a 1998 328i and as a homemade anti theft device, I have installed a hidden switch that cuts the main power lead to the fuel pump. Is this a pretty reliable anti theft system or does anyone know a way to bypass this easily without finding the switch?
Thanks

How is this done? Are there any walkthroughs on the web? I'd love to do this.

I made this up myself. i figured there are likely ways to defeat an ignition kill switch both from the key ad under the hood. Also, most people "hide" their kill switch under the dash so they can get to it conveniently, however that is the first place the theif would look. But here, without fuel the car cannot be started even by pushing.....as some people use a starter disable switch for anti theft. It is up to you where you choose to hide the switch, just try to find an obscure location where most people would not think to look. Dont put it under dash, under seat, in ash tray, on either front doors, in glove box, etc. Also note, that i have the on board computer that accepts a code that you must type in before the car can be started....but.....it very easily uplugs and the car can be started with no code!
