You must do a lot of driving that does not get you anywhere :)Well actually I just got this truck about two months ago and just found this little tidbit of information last week. I`m taking a chance on it with the high mileage ,but different techs said not to worry about it ,they are a very good engine,we`ll see..........LOL .As for the hours on it ..oh crap wish I had found this out before I bought it but didn`t oh well.It must have done lots of idling or some old geezer had it running 20M.P.H 24/7

So far I have not had any problems with the enigine.. Chevy did a good job on them, in my opinion. So I think you will be pretty good. You should be able to get more than 200K pretty easy without anything major.

Somebody might use a truck to power a compressor or something, lots of hours on the engine without lots of miles on the truck. It's a good thing to know.

Yea, it seems like this was added when they made the hybrid trucks that double as a generator. If you do alot of that, it could be tough to keep up with maintenance. Or folks who snow plow. It can get slow. Growing up farming, the rule was to change the oil every 100 miles (EDIT: that's hours lol). But those were all diesel, so maybe it's different here. Anybody know? Last oil change on my truck about 5000 miles was 100 hrs, but all i do is highway now.
