You might have a little trouble with that if the car has a PassLock system.

The people at the shop that did my car alarm said that for mine too, it's cars that are from like 97-98+ because of the chips inside the keys for the theft lock. But I didn't have a problem with mine so I saved like $60.

These keys seem to be more for the import cars, I see them all over ebay for honda, acura, vdub, and yota. Although there was one on there for Fords.

Looks like a butterfly knife but instead of a blade you have your car key.

Here is the jist of it..clicky clicky (http://cgi.ebay.com/Weapon-R-Butterfly-Knife-Key-5-colors-Buy-it-Now_W0QQitemZ130039029221QQihZ003QQcategoryZ50431Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

Im more partial to the switchblade style myself.

mine doesnt have the pass lock thing on it so thats not a problem. I do like the switch blade kind but you never see the butterfly knife kind thats why i want it. just havent had any luck with the whole gm thing. soo i guess i will just keep looking till i find one.

cant you just have one made? Take your normal key to a home depot or something and have them make one? If they actually have the right base key...

i like the type of key that is used in the new volkswagons, it has a button on the side that you push and the key whips out and the remote is built into the handle of the key

That would be the switchblade style I was talking about above.

Well if you read the first post which is the most important one. It says that I want the butterfly knife style key. I can get one copied yes but what good would that do if it isnt the butterfly knife style. yea I know what the switchblade look like and that style is really cool but i want the other one.

Its not like it'd be that hard. Just get a butterfly knife from any knife/gun shop, have a machine shop pound out the bolts that hold it together, grind down the base of one of your spare keys, drill a hole into the base, then pound it back together.

...Ill be more specific. Buy a butterknife base, and then have them make it from there. I mean, it doesnt matter what manufacture of car its for, a key is a key. And even if the keys were diffrent, it could easily be changed at wherever you are getting it made, such as home depot.

Well that changes it because I though that the style of blank keys were different for different makes of cars. If I can use a blank from any make of car then i will just get one for like an acura and take it to home depot and have them copy it.

The only thing I could see being diffrent is the width and height. Which can both be modified at a place that cuts them, I believe.

I got a slight feeling that they're not the same and wouldn't work.
