Im going to be replacing the rear struts on my 87 lesabre custom in the next week or so.I was just curious as to how difficult of a job it is going to be and is there anything special I might need other than the nut and bolt kit to install the new ones? Thanks

Off the top of my head, since I just did the fronts on my lovely Ford product, a propane torch, pb blast/rust eater, large assortment of breaker bars (I had to fabricate my own for the pinch bolt, a childless house, allot of beer, and 4' X 8' sheet of plywood (scrap drywall worked fine for me) with the word "'sorry" scrolled across large enough for all your neighbors to see long before they come to complain about the use of vulger language

I spray all the bolts down with the pb blast/rust eater thoroughly for a couple nights before hand.

Also, you could (if you haven' already) register at autozone online they have repair manuals, just know that if you enter your year, it will come up with the full size model, so go with 89 and up.

The job is much easier with a impact gun, provided you r air compressor didn't grenade 2 weeks prior.

The hardest part about changing the rear struts is getting the nuts off of the top mount inside the trunk. A spring compressor is not needed. Since you live in a area that doesn't salt the roads you shouldn't have any trouble getting any thing loose.

Make sure you use jack stands, (don't work just using a jack!) and put them on a solid surface.
