Hi,
i have a 96 neon
this is my situation. when i pull the light switch, everything turns on BUT the dim lights. when you push forward on the brights lever, the brights don't turn on, but when you pull forward they do until you let go of it. the only thing i can think of is that my dimmer switch has gone. i've had my neon for a year and a half now and have had nothing but problems with it. can someone please tell me where to locate the dimmer switch? is it in the pull switch or on the steering column?

The switch you pull for your lights is your dimmer, just twist it, as far as I know that is the only switch. Check all your fuse and continuity between them. Your fuse panel on the driver side, and your pcm, the black box behind the battery. Your issue may be a fuse or possibly the switch itself in which case id suggest replacing that. Hope it helps.

i don't believe that your getting my drift...the dimmer switch is for the headlights. you have your brights than your dims. all the dims are is less voltage....i need to know where the dimmer switch is. i know on chevs it is in the steering column

I must not be, sorry. I know of the headlight switch that controls all lights as well as brightness of the instrument panel. There is also the switch that activates the high beams and low beams, if that is not making a connection at that switch u may no have connection to that particular contact point within that switch. that is the arm u push forward for brights, if u were to remove the steering column cover, you will see similar set ups on either side of the wheel, one for wipers the other for your lights. That would be the only switch i know of and would say to replace that.
