visiting my parents, i go driving around, i was turning right in the right lane, but noticed a modded eg on my left waiting for the lights to turn green, cf hood, rear rims, lip, exhaust. I go "wtf, i know this dude" waited till the lights go green and i did an illegal left turn to go into his lane, im in front of him, i go speed up and switch lanes, he gets to my side, i slow down and he goes, i follow, both cars equal. I noticed a a red light is emerging, but a truck is in my lane, i speed up and switch lanes in front of the truck, he speeds up to my lane and we both lined up at the red light. I rev, he nods, and before we knew it, the lights went green, i stood there spinning my bald tires, crazy wheel hop. To my surprise, he's not not going anywhere fast, I slow down the revs so my tires can grip, tires grip and away both the cars go, i noticed everytime i race these civics, they always shift before me, i've come to the conclusion that their engines revs and redlines faster (even though i redline @ 6.2k) approaching 4th gear for me, i had 1/2 length on him, we both slow down and go into the wal-mart parking lot. He parks there, i find him
me: hey man, long time no see!!!!
him: yeah man
me: were you pushing it back there???
him: *shrugs his shoulders* I couldn't grip my tires
me: what motor?
him: dx (i believe him because i didn't hear any vtec when we was racing)
he told me he's selling the eg and waiting for someone to come check it out if they wanna buy it or not. I asked him what he's done to the motor and he goes "stock". The guy that wants to buy his car finally sees us, he asked to open the eg hood, and when my buddy opened his hood, behold!!!!!! stock motor my ass!!! headers, intake, exhaust, fuel pressure regulator, ignition, etc.........the guy finishes the test drive on the eg and said he'll call my buddy later on if he decides to buy it. We said our good byes and parted. The End!

I really miss the sound of vtec to be honest. Though I only had an integra gs-r for a month and a half, when it kicked into vtec you could defnitely hear it in the car. I dunno what the Celica's IVTEC sounds like in comparison.
Anyways good kill, and quite surprising. What is a Civic EG? I've heard of the LX, EX, and Si, but never an EG.

a civic eg refers to the chassis. its a early 90s civic basically.
like the early hatches/coupes that started the whol scene of F&F. im pretty sure you remeber those days when altezzas were cool, with white rims and a matchin decal. quick msdewey.com search will give you this if you dont remember what kind of civic im talking about:

Actually an EG civic is a 92-95 hatch (like in the above link). And damn he had headers. I've never seen a civic with 2 heads. Now I know that it wasn't stock. LOL j/p...
You should really start slipping the clutch and stop dumping it. All you're doing with wheel hop is speeding up your cv axle replacement. Rev it up to your desired rpm and hold it there, slip your left foot off of the clutch half-way, let the tires spin, and you'll know when the tires grip and your foot will be off the clutch. Don't let off the clutch too fast or you'll bog. If you're going to be street racing, then I'm sure you're not exactly worried about fucking your clutch up by riding it when you're about to launch. I don't know, maybe your are though. Anyway, nice kill...

nice kill rice(er). your turning more into takumi more than anything by beatin people that cant drive their car correctly.
turtle, that is a good recomoneation for ricer, but i think he wants his car to last all the way thru college, i think this is his 2nd year or so. also a good recomendation for me as well, but i have no clutch...autotragic. its called hold it upon the tq converter for no longer than 10 sec max.

My cars much quieter than that maybe the extra cam does it. It sounds pretty cool, I think I will keep it quiet though.
