THINKING about getting DHP PCM...

From pfyc.com.
Since it's only $100, I'm REALLY thinking about it...
I'm just worried that I'll break something :uhoh:
and what is this "CASE RELEARN" procedure and what does it mean?
ABOUT CASE LEARN:
It is advisable to make a trip to the dealer and instruct them you have a DTC P1336 which calls for a CASE learn. Some may refer to it as a Crank Positioning. Use some degree of discretion while asking them *NOT* to reflash the PCM. If they reflash the PCM, all your tweaks are gone forever. It's a simple process that should take no more than 5 minutes. Most dealers do not have a problem with it. Many do it for free while other may charge a modest fee for it.
And will my car NOT work with 87 octane fuel very well or will it still work fine? I think I remember someone saying they used 87 but I can't remember...
Thanks guys :)

lets see... its actually $200 when you buy it, you have to send in your old one to recieve $100 back, generally its in good condition when you take it out of your car.. I juse used the original packaging that the new programmed one came in and took it to UPS for ground shipping .. like $10 to ship the old one back. You then recieve a $100 check in the mail of which you can cash or put into ur bank account at the bank, pretty simple.
Only thing I managed to break was the plastic that holds a piece up in there so people cant see all the wires... it actually comes out pretty simple, few bolts and a flathead needed to take it out and everything and awkward positioning (upside down laid out in driver seat lol)
The CASE learn is a must, unless you want your shifts to be a little funky or off... I was charged $40 for the service. They use their GMTechII computer, bring it out and plug it into your car... basically they rev the engine untill it cuts out.... then have them do the process AGAIN a second time untill redline and your case learn will be set
it is possible to use 87oct, just not recommended
i was using 87oct for the longest time due to prices =p but now I went back to 93 and been running cleaning here and there and oct boost to help the fuel burn more clean...
Id grab the PCM asap, before the price goes back up... it is subject to change

eep :P
I just want to be 100% sure :D
Also, I think I'll probably replace my oil with royal purple next, since I don't plan on selling my GASE. If I get a new car to work on, I'll need a car to drive around in the process, and if I work on my GASE, I need another car to drive around in the process. Sooooo... might as well have fun, right? :iceslolan

ya I kno, go read above post :p
And switching to the purple isnt always a bad idea... Id personally go with a K&N Oil filter w/ royal purple 5w30 or 10w30 .. w/e it is...
Also, if you do buy the PCM, switch your transmission fluid to royal purple or any other syn tranny fluid...
The process I had done was just do a trans filter change, and added Royal Purple MAX ATF in after the filter was changed... it smoothed out shifts a great amount... almost a great benefit because the PCM does add harder shifts in the line... and you feel it too =p

for the best performance you need thier DHP tuner.
Unless you know someone who has software on a PC or lap top, like Auto Tap  :ylsuper:
