Why do we drive on parkways and park on driveways?

Thats the best answer Ive heard yet..:D

A parkway is usally next to a Park, be it a play park, a busisness park any kind of park, and a Driveway os near what we drive on.

I think that driveways were also orignally longer, so it makes more sense to call them "drive" ways opposed to Parkways, I also thought that a Parkway is a road that is adjadcent to a body of water, be it a River, Lake or Canal. As for the end of the driveway, I like Moe Syzlak's definition of a Garage.

I don't know about anywhere else, but here in Pittsburgh, PA I think that at any given time you can get more driving done in your driveway than you could on any of the Parkways!!!! The parkways, especially during rush hour, are more like parking lots... I've seen people just shut their cars down since they didn't move for 20 minutes!!!! :flash:
