95 Explorer hub help

My question is "how do I get the slider pin(the thing on the axle so the hub nut stay's in place) out so I can get the hub assembly off to replace it?? ty...J!!

You may need a special 4X4 hub socket.
Most of the time you wiill need to check your parts place or tool dealer like mac/snapon for a hub wrench tool to remove them.
Auto zone may have one they will rent out.

Thanks for the info, I know about the hub socket tool, its the cotter pin on the spindle, there is a retangle groove on the topside and in that groove is a pin to lock the hub bolt, the bolt wont move with that pin in, is there a special way to get it out, or just force the issue to remove the bolt? ty..J!!

Sounds like you need to get the pin or key out someway.
I am not sure what setup you have but is it is a solid square key there should be a thing snap type ring that holds it in place.
The rear axels have a square tin type key that just pulls out of grove.

Thanks again for the info......yes that pin is going to give me a run for my money, but it wont win.....no tab on the pin so it looks like I'm going to have to do a small tap-and-die and insert a small screw and make my own tab, and if that dont work, get out the 'old cutting tool and buy a new nut......J!!

You might try a magnet or wiggle the nuts or spray it with a little PC blaster/pentrating oil or carb cleaner.
