Help!!!!
A friend of mine at work had his car stolen this weekend. The thieves smashed out must of the left side of his column ( not the lock cylinder). My co-worker said that he needed a screwdriver and a paper clip to get it started, and it will now not work at all.>>
Does this column have the standard switch at the base of the column?
What would be in the column (electronically) to prevent him from starting the car besides the switch.
I am going to look at the car this evening to help him. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks all

If the car was stolen,
its hard to say what they done with it,
other than the obvous smashed column.
I dont think 89's had a passlock system either that would disable it from starting.
