I have one question before starting to spray the body of my FD RX-7 that just came in the mail.
I want to spray the body in TS-17 Gloss Aluminium, but im not sure if the Tamiya gray primer would work, does it work? or do i need to use white primer?
Thank you
Andy.

A general rule of thumb that I've learned to live by recently, is to always use a top coat of white primer for any colour but black. Or possibly a really dark blue, that kind of thing. It really helps you find the high and low spots more clearly. That's gonna be especially true for you, using a gray/silver that'd look almost identical. I've since started using Grey to do all the necessary bodywork and whatnot, and then I do one decent coat of white primer before I do colour.
Just IMO.

Gray or white, it doesn't matter because silvers work best over a gloss black surface. After primer spray a black coat and then your final silver coats. Works much better.

Good point, I've heard that as well. I really should give it a try some time...
