ok on my 95 lumina ls the turn signal lever wont click back after making a left turn. It works fine when making a right turn though. It just started today and is very annoying as i have to keep clicking it back myself...any suggestions?

 I currently own two of them and both do the same thing. Wierd things wear out after twelve years.

yeah, well, you can replace the multi-function switch which is kind of costly and probably not for a beginner, or you can live with it. If you have brake lights, i'd just leave it alone.

It does require some special tools, and if you're not comfortable working with an air-bag (if your car has one) then I agree with tblake, leave it to a mechanic. It's not a physically or technically difficult job, more frustrating than anything. It will require removing the air bag, steering wheel, and ignition lock plate, then running the harness down the column to replace the failed part.

Don't these things have a cancel\return cam on them?

My 94 3.1 APV does the same thing; I just haven't taken the time to fully look into the cost of parts, etc for it, but will do it once I have the other "major" stuff taken care of. It returns and cancels on right turns, but doesn't on left turns.

My 1998 was making rapid clicking noise on right turn, no turn signal or indicator light on dash. If I reset arm or pulled back on turn signal arm, would be OK. Problem got worse during summer till I had to pull back pull back switch for all right and left turns. Now that weather has gotten cold, it works fine. I'm am planning to replace switch soon. There's a rash of complaints on this forum and others concerning GM turn signal problems.
