:banghead: I was searching through the forums and I found and old one that i have the same problem with. The link to the old one is the following:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=304962
This is how the old thread started:
"I have noticed lately when driving I have little power at all times. I hear a clanking under my seat and at 50+ mph the car rocks and shakes. A friend has told me it could be the injectors being clogged. The turbo does not seem to work but that could be because of this other problem. The car has 216k miles but is in great shape. I have been told it could be the cat convertor, ign wires, coils. ????? Please help. Thx, Barry."
This is what I have to add and try to get some help:
1. have a lot to add to this. I.m having the same problems wit the same 92 pa sc. mine has only 120k on it. i'll run u through the sequence to see if u can help. the first thing I noticed was noise from the sc. figured I need it repaired. then I started having rough idle. after the rough idiling came the same problem you are having at 50m/hr with power loss and low 10mpg. also the battery gauge got jumpy. I changed the fuel filter and did a tune up but wasn't really helpful. then the next day it didn't start. would crank but wouldn't start. took to mechanic and had the harmonic balancer changed. got it starting again but didn't fix the rest of the problems. few days later the engine light came on with codes 19 and 44. took it to another mechanic. he told me their was a short in the ect module. he also confirmed that I needed another sc and told me the o2 sensor was workin fine.. I told him to fix the short in the ect module. he also cleaned the injectors. I didn't get the sc fixed too much money rite now. came out fine from the shop. 3 days later a heat shield fell from the catlytic conv. and another 4 days later the following symptons came back: noises at 50m/hr; loss of power and mileage down again to 10; jumpy battery gauge. the only thing that didn't come back was the engine light. this is were I am at rite now. if anyone can add to this that would be helpful.:banghead:
